William J. Spicer, Jr. 60, of Shepherdsville passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin with his family by his side.
William was a Baptist by faith, and an active member Little Flock Baptist Church. William was self-motivated and talented making him a successful salesman, he held various sales positions over the course of his career. He was a huge patriot. He was proud of the U.S., the flag, freedom, sacrifice, and all that being an American represents. He was enthralled with U.S. historical sites and served as historian to his family while visiting these treasured locations on vacation. William was an extremely versatile individual with interests in various types of music, movies based on true stories, old cars, especially muscle cars, fishing and boating, all things vintage, and most sports. William even made it to the Cincinnati Reds tryouts twice but unfortunately was a base hitter and their interest was in a homerun hitter. William was an avid University of Louisville fan. He loved traveling to the games with his tailgating family and friends. William loved animals, especially his dogs Tazer & Misha; his grand dogs Bert and Poppy; and the best dog ever- his dearly departed Shae. William was a doting husband and father to his girls, but he believed his granddaughter DeLaney hung the moon. He loved being a pepaw, taking on the role of both father and grandfather, he and DeLaney shared an unbreakable bond.
He was preceded in death by his parents William & Jerry Spicer, along with his brother, John Spicer.
William is survived by his loving wife of over 33 years, Donna Spicer; his daughters, Erin Spicer of Shepherdsville and Sydney Spicer of Elizabethtown; his granddaughter DeLaney Spicer, along with additional family members and numerous friends.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitations will be Friday 3:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
