William "Billy" Mchargue Jr.

William “Billy” McHargue, Jr. of Shepherdsville and Tarpon Springs, Fl passed away on Sunday January 5, 2014 at Suncoast Hospice-Brookside in Palm Harbor, Fl after an illness.
Billy was a native of Pine Hill, Ky a retired funeral director and embalmer, a Kentucky Colonel and a former Jefferson County Deputy. He was appointed by then Gov. John Y. Brown to serve on the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers from 1983-1987. He was a member of Bullitt Lodge 155 F.& A.M. and joined Ashland Lodge #640 in 1947 and a member of Kosair Temple.
He was preceded in death by his parents Glida and William McHargue, Sr. his siblings Claud, Joe, Lester McHargue, Ed, Vernon, Estel Reynolds, Hazel Cummins, Eula Bass, Ina Sears, Effie Perciful, Ollie Harris and Nellie Carpenter.
Billy is survived by his loving wife Sadie M. McHargue, his children LoAnn Talbott (Rick) of Shepherdsville and Marion Whitehouse (Judy), a sister Elva Jean Singleton, his grandchildren; Brian and Steven Short, Adrienne Williams, Melissa Doyle, Heather Skaggs and Kirk Whitehouse and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Raines officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. till time of service.
Prior to the interment on Friday at Elmwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon the family will receive visitors at Cox Funeral Home from 11 a.m. till Noon.
