Thomas “Buck” Ray Thornton, 91 of Clermont, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, with his family by his side.
Buck was a Baptist by faith, a member of Vine Hill Baptist Church and the caretaker of the church’s cemetery for over 52 years. He was a loyal and hard-working man who always supported and loved his family. He retired from Jim Beam Distillery with over 45 years of service. He was a union steward and completed a term as the union president. He was loved and respected by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 64 years Mary Katherine Thornton; his parents TJ and Beatrice Thornton; his siblings that included Patsy Huckaby, Rose Trulock and Ruth Thompson.
Buck is survived by his daughters Vicky, Phyllis, and Mary Rose Thornton; his grandchildren Danielle (Dustin), Aaron (Mandy), Katie and Abbi; along with 7 great-grand children that he loved dearly.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Vine Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Vine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
