Sonja Varney 50 of Shepherdsville passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday October 28, 2012.
Sonja was a native of Pikeville, Kentucky, a former nursing aide at Suburban Hospital, served as an in home care giver for several years and a faithful member of Brooks Baptist Church.
She is survived by her siblings Eddie Maynard (Elaine) of Brooks, Jeff Maynard of Ashland, Kentucky and Barry Maynard of Shepherdsville, her aunts Gaye Thacker of Tucson, AZ, Flo Ables of New Albany, IN and Jane Hasting of Louisville, her uncles Roger Blackburn of Louisville, Richard Blackburn of Oklahoma, OK, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday November 1st, at Brooks Baptist Church with her brother Rev. Eddie Maynard officiating. Burial will be on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Blackburn Family Cemetery in Canada, Kentucky.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. till 10:30 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
