Shannon Elaine Saunders

 Shannon Elaine Saunders 65, of Shepherdsville passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, at her home with loved ones near her side. 

 Shannon was a native of Tampa, Fl. She was a Baptist by faith and spent many years working as a line server at Piccadilly Cafeteria. She was hospitable with a welcoming smile and warm greeting. She enjoyed making others smile and bringing happiness to someone’s day. She had a huge heart full of love for every child and animal that she encountered. She and her pets were bonded like mother and child. Shannon enjoyed gardening and taking care of plants, her home was surrounded by trees and nature, a place in which she felt well rooted and peaceful. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents Ruby Count and Martin Saunders.

 Shannon is survived by her significant other of nearly 25 years, Russell “Russ” Keller, sisters Stephanie Thomas of Shepherdsville and Shandora Estes of Hillview, nieces and nephews Ethan, Robert, Martin, Jonathan, Jessica, Jenda, Junior and Serrina, Russ’ siblings and extended family, along with her sweet caretaker Hailey, that was much like a daughter to her. Shannon’s circle was small but so precious to her, they were her strength and support, together they braved many storms and smiled at the rainbows that remain. 

 The family has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services and will be hosting a Memorial Celebration in Shannon’s honor. 

 A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 814 Lutz Lane Shepherdsville, KY 40165.
