Roy Merrill Smith, Jr., 70 of Shepherdsville passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2016 with his family by his side.
He was the owner and operator of Smith's Auto Repair and a retiree of Ford Motor Company. He was the VP of Louisville Lead, an avid poker player, a Harley rider and loved old cars and Nascar, a Navy veteran and a native of Iowa.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Reida Smith; his parents Roy Smith, Sr. and Vera Smith; his brothers Bernard Smith and Alan Barnes; and his great grandson Gavin Layne.
He is survived by his children Tammie Metten (Greg) of Louisville, Roy Smith (Pam) of Louisville, Douglas Smith (Cindy) of Cape Coral, FL., Angela Runner (Charles) of Shepherdsville; his siblings Lillie Parrot (Glenn) of Sioux City, IA., Melvin Smith of Shepherdsville, along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Roy's request for you to feel free to wear a Nascar or Harley Davidson attire to visitation.
