Robert Victor Hammond

Robert Victor Hammond, 68 of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.
Victor was proud to have been born and raised in Bath, South Carolina. He had a love for anything sports related, the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed watching all sports but grew up playing baseball and basketball. He was a U.S. Army veteran and boxed during seven of his nine years of service. He also enjoyed playing golf.
Victor was a Christian by faith and a very loving and forgiving man. Hardworking, dedicated, and loyal, he was the all-around best husband, daddy and manpa. As hard and as dedicated as he was to his career and providing for his family, he never missed a family event or one of his kids’ sporting events while they were growing up. He was loved by and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Shane Hammond; his father and stepmother, Bobby and Frankie Hammond; his stepfather, Simmie Christie; his siblings, Sharon Rucker, Susan Faulkner and Angie Rucker; his sister-in-law, Linda Hammond; his granddaughter Kimber Jo Kerns.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hammond; his children, Jason Kerns, David Kerns, Michelle Craig, and Alicia Rouse (Frank); his mother, Barbara Christie; his siblings, Pam Woodward Cooper (David), Todd Hammond, Dawn Christie Proctor (Richard), Susie Hammond Anderson, Wayne Christie and Carol Rodgers; his grandchildren Austin, Lakin, Madison, Nadia, Genevieve, Abigail and Freyja Kerns, Lilly and Gage Hammond, Baelyn and Wyatt Bourque, Hayden and Jared Rouse, Seth, Jasmine, Isabella and Elly May Craig.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
