Robert “Bob” William Sharp, 97 of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was a devout man of faith and a member of the Cedar Grove Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Shepherdsville. Bob was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and he served as a flight instructor in the United States Air Force during World War II. Bob studied mechanical engineering at the Case School of Applied Science, which is where he met his wife, Carol Taylor Sharp. After graduation Bob, Carol and their children moved to Alliance, Ohio where they lived 11 years before moving to California where Bob worked as an engineer in the Aeronautics industry until his retirement. He then started his second career alongside Carol as realtors in the Orange County, California area. Bob and Carol resettled in Bullitt County, Kentucky in 2004, joining most of their children and grandchildren in the area. Bob had a love for music especially Dixieland and he enjoyed playing the trumpet with a band.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents R. Robert and Margaret Sharp; along with his sister Jane Yackee and son-in-law Larry Felgar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Carol Taylor Sharp; his children Linda Sharp Felgar, Dean K. Sharp (Donna), Becky Sharp Surma (Dennis) all of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Connie Sharp of California; 12 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren.
The family has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation. There will be a Zoom Memorial Service on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
