Richard “Ric” James Taulbee, 59 of Shepherdsville passed away suddenly Sunday, December 15, 2024, at his home.
Ric was a Christian by faith, a very religious and spiritual person by nature. He proudly served in the United States Army. Ric and his fiancé Cari met as teenagers, they went their separate ways for decades and by chance reconnected as though it had always been meant to be. Ric and Cari had found peace and happiness within each other, they shared a home with their dog Princess that Ric called his “Lil’ bit” and together they lived out their storybook romance. Ric was a thoughtful, caring man, with a strong sense of honor. Ric was a good man. He spent his days tending to the household chores and working tirelessly in the yard. He was proud of his home and yard, keeping everything in an orderly fashion. He was very handy and could repair or create almost anything. He was an avid leather worker, creating many works of art. He loved fishing and took pleasure in stringing up his poles. He was very resourceful, always ready to make a deal. Each day Ric sat on the back porch watching and feeding numerous birds. He could distinguish the difference among the birds and gave each bird a name. It was his peaceful retreat, his place to recharge. Ric’s presence will be dearly missed by Cari, Lil’ Bit, and his numerous feathered friends at the sanctuary they created.
Ric is survived by his fiancé Carene (Cari) Hylton of Shepherdsville, along with extended family and friends.
The family has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services.
