Preston Leon Whalin, 86 of Lebanon Junction passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital.
Preston was a true patriot; he dedicated himself to serving his country and helping others. He retired from the United States Army, re-enlisted and served in the Air National Guard. He selflessly served as a firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department. Preston also served his time working with the public at the Commonwealth of Kentucky Driver’s Licensing Bureau. Preston exemplified true Patriotism, a willingness to serve his country and fellow man, his loyalty and devotion made him a hero, forever memorialized in the hearts of the lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Byrdie Whalin; son Keith Whalin; siblings Wanda, Joy and Denzil, along with his grandchild Justin Styles.
Preston is survived by his daughter Tonya Peacock and her husband Thomas of Lebanon Junction; brother Daryl Whalin and his wife Tammi of Broken Arrow, OK, along with extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held 12-4 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home.
A private burial is to take place in Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.
