Peggy Jean Raley

Peggy Jean Boone Raley, 92 passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

 Known fondly as “Mother”, she loved all whom she met. She loved her church and her faith was unbreakable. She enjoyed attending the St. Aloysius Women’s Club meetings, functions and outings.

 Her greatest devotion was to her late husband of 61 years. She met Joseph at a square dance in Colesburg and there was no turning back. They married in 1955 and raised their 8 children on a dairy farm in Shepherdsville. The 8 “J’s” as they are known were her whole world. She changed more diapers, cooked more meals and washed more clothes than we can count. The love and respect her children have for her is unending.

 She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Joseph V. Raley, her son Joseph Allen Raley, her infant grandson Ethan Wayne Raley, her parents John Cripps and Mary Amy Boone, and 3 brothers J.C. Boone, Kenny Boone and Francis Boone.

 She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Judy Crigler (Don), Jerry Raley, John Raley, Janice Amy Johns (Roger), Jennifer Curtsinger, Jeff Raley (Stephanie) and Jason Raley (Christie), her siblings Helen Sturgeon, Cil Snellen, Ann Boone SCN, Bernard Boone, Willetta Bunch, Keith Boone, Mike Boone and Wayne Boone, 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

 Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shepherdsville with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens of Mt. Washington.

 Visitation will be at Maraman Billings Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 2-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or Hosparus.
