Niles Harold Leach Jr.

November 26, 1940 — December 27, 2019

Niles Harold Leach Jr., 79 of Shepherdsville passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 with his family by his side.
Harold was born November 26, 1940 in Roanoke, VA. He worked for 27 years with Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. After retiring he worked with Hospice of Louisville for many years and truly enjoyed helping others. He was also a proud Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Niles Harold Sr. and Ida Leach; along with a brother Douglas Leach.
Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years Linda Leach; his children Laura Leach Van Vactor (Joseph Thomas) of Shepherdsville, Sam Lee Byard (Melissa) of Franklin, KY and Samuel Wright (Terri) of Shepherdsville; his siblings Shirley Cheatwood (Bill) of Lynchburg, VA and a sister in law Loretta Leach of Versailles, KY; his grandchildren Emily Wise (Jim), Samuel Leach, Erin Capps (Justin), Wade Byard, William Byard (Kalyi), Hailey Peacock, Noah Van Vactor, Sierra Ailes and Gavin Byard; 3 great grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Harold's favorite food was the giant jar of Jif Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter with Ritz Crackers. Please bring a jar and a box at the visitation, and it will be donated in Bullitt County where he worked to help families and children in need.
