Marilyn June Myers, 90, of Brooks passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Green Meadows Healthcare Center.
She was a Methodist by faith. She was a homemaker, a true matriarch, her duties were never ending, she served many roles, but her favorite was that of a loving grandmother. Marilyn enjoyed being outdoors, she raised gardens and kept the yard tidy. She liked fishing from the dock of their serene pond with her favorite lure, she proudly shared the day’s catch, and maybe a fish story or two. Marilyn got excited for a bargain, and the treasures she found thrift shopping. She had a fondness for animals, she had several beloved dogs, Frisky being one of her favorites. Marilyn loved lazy evenings sitting in the yard overlooking their pond, sharing stories and laughs with those dear to her, creating memories to last a lifetime. Family was everything to Marilyn, she delighted in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. The love shared between Marilyn and her great- granddaughter Sophia was immeasurable. The bond and memories will forever be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Warner Myers, her parents John and Edna Shields; along with her son-in-law Randall McGuire.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters Lori Hawkins (Jeff) of Brooks, and Julie McGuire of Shepherdsville; her siblings Lucille Sade, Jean Shields, Joyce Shields, Ivis Shields, and Lucille Shields; her granddaughter Jama Adams (Andrew) of Shepherdsville; her great-granddaughter Sophia Rain Adams, and soon to make her debut Ms. Lucille May Adams.
The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Tammy Brennenstul, for her compassion in caring for Mrs. Myers.
