Lester Raymond Pilkerton, 62, of Mt. Washington passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Norton Hospital.
Lester was a retired self-employed brick mason. He was a God-fearing man that stood strong on his principals. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. He loved fishing and couldn’t imagine a day better spent. He was proud to have just been upgraded to Papaw, his grandson Micca was his pride and joy. Lester was confident, assertive and unafraid to speak his mind, he was quick with a sassy remark, and full of attitude. He was never one to shy away from confrontation physical or verbal, he stood for his beliefs. Lester bravely battled with his own health, he put up a hell of a fight. In contrast to his fighting spirit, Lester had a huge heart with a great sense of humor. He was reliable and supportive; he placed the needs of others above his own. He was always there, filling so many different roles: partner, dad, brother, and everyone's favorite superhero. Lester was a main character, his role left unfinished, he will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Joann Pilkerton, along with his brother Kenneth Pilkerton.
He is survived by his significant other of more than 38 years, Annette Lyvers; his son Michael Pilkerton (Erica); sister Michelle "Shelly" Pilkerton (Michael); grandson Micca Pilkerton; his nieces and nephews that were like his own children, Alyssa Pilkerton (Isiac), Aaliyah Byrd and Kenneth Worner all of Mt. Washington; along with extended family and friends.
