Leigh Ann Carter, 57 of Shepherdsville passed away suddenly in the comfort of her home on Monday, June 7, 2021.
She was a Catholic by faith and the matriarch of her family. Leigh Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, who always put her family first, and truly held them together. Leigh Ann grew up in the family’s restaurant business, she was an amazing cook, she loved hosting family dinners and get togethers. Leigh Ann enjoyed gardening, and the beauty found in nature. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchild Kaden. Leigh Ann and Kaden lit up the room with smiles, love and laughter while singing twinkle twinkle little star together. She was an amazing woman and will be missed beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Nellie Jo Hale- Wilson and Glenn Thomas Hale.
Leigh Ann is survived by her loving husband of nearly 30 years, Raymond Carter; her sons Jacob Matthew Carter and Paul Jordan Carter (Emily) both of Shepherdsville; siblings Mark Hale, Patti Hale-Turner-Elliott, Beth Wemes and Leslie Kaelin all of Louisville, Timmy Hale of Gallatin, TN, and Jamie Decker of Mt. Washington; along with her grandchildren Kaden Elvie Carter and Kash Leigh Carter (On the way).
The family of Mrs. Carter has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services and will be hosting a celebration of life. The family ask that you please join them along with her friends, as they gather to humbly give thanks and praise to our creator; for the blessing of knowing and sharing in her loving and caring life. The light of Christ shown brightly, through her fast devotion to family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Cornerstone Community Church, 10600 Lower River Road, Louisville, KY 40272. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
