Larry Robert Larue

June 9, 1951 — August 9, 2021

Larry Robert LaRue, 70 of Shepherdsville passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at Norton Audubon Hospital with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Newman and Virginia Essex LaRue; his son Robert Douglas LaRue and grandchild Cody LaRue.
Larry retired from Southern Standard Cartons where he served as a machine operator for more than 49 years. He was a simple man, happy to be outdoors hunting or fishing. He enjoyed car shows, was mechanically inclined and quick to recognize a diamond in the rough and all the potential it held. He could often be found tinkering with an old car, attempting to help someone get back on the road again. Larry enjoyed his coffee and visits with family and friends. He was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed
Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Kathy LaRue; his children Steven LaRue (Jacqueline) and James Larue (Danielle) both of Shepherdsville; siblings Jeskell Bloomer (Bo) of Elizabeth, IN, Sue Bush and Norma Ward (David) both of Louisville, and James LaRue (Debbie) of Roy, Utah; along with his grandchildren Ravin Armstrong, Emily Armstrong, Samantha LaRue and Taylor Smith.
The family of Mr. LaRue has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services.
The family is hosting a celebration of Larry’s life on Saturday, August 14, 2021, beginning at 1:00 p.m., located at 132 Featherbell Court in Shepherdsville.
