Larry James Brown Sr., 72 of Louisville passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 with his family by his side.
Larry was a Baptist by faith, he retired from the racetrack where he groomed the horses. Larry had a zest for life, he enjoyed dancing, playing his favorite game of Spades and above all, time spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Brown; daughter Cassandra Brown; mother Delores Brown; brother Gearld Brown and sister Shirley Cantrell.
Larry is survived by his children Melissa Pittman (Dwan) of Knoxville, TN, Larry James Brown Jr. (Wanda) of Huntsville, AL, Quincy Brown of Milwaukee, WI, Tony Brown and Boo Brown both of Chicago, IL; his stepchildren Vivian Barnes, Gerrell Barnes and Petrina Brown all of Flint, MI, Ella Shepherd (Nelson) and Eugene Barnes both of Louisville; his siblings Eugene Henry Mayes of Jolliet, IL, Catherine Johnson, Evelyn Cheers and Geraldine Brown all of California; along with 44 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Diane Dixon officiating and Christine Brown leading prayer. The family has chosen cremation to follow.
Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of service.
