Retired Army Veteran Keith Alan Herb 59, passed away in his Midway, Georgia home on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Keith was born on May 3, 1960 in Berea, OH to Donald and Martha (Teniak) Herb. He enlisted in the US Army in 1982 and served his country honorably for 20 years. He retired in 2002 as Sergeant First Class in the 306 Infantry Regiment stationed at Ft. Stewart, GA. His service included several years in Germany, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War. A brave and dedicated soldier, he earned several medals, including two Bronze Star Medals, the Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal twice and the Army Achievement Medal five times among others.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald N. Herb.
Keith was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son Jeremy (Kerry) Herb of Mount Washington and daughter Ayla Schoenhoff (Orville) of Shepherdsville; his mother Martha Herb of Louisville; his siblings Gary Herb (Joy) of Louisville, Valerie Ragland (Prentice) of La Grange and Dale Herb (Karen) of Prospect; his grandsons Vincent Schoenhoff and Kane Lucey; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Rev. Ned Smith officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitations will be Saturday 12:00 p.m. until time of services.
