LOUISVILLE – Juddy Wayne Griffin, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep August 25, 2018. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he enjoyed a long career at General Electric in a supervisory position as a Maintenance Foreman.
Born in McKenzie, Alabama, Juddy was preceded in death by his four older brothers, Olin, Merrill, Lister and Ben. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty, daughters Karen Tate (Andy), Stacey Hallahan (Daniel), grandchildren James Tate (Annie), Jordan Tate (Lauren), Corey & Jackson Hallahan, great grandchildren Julia, Ava, Cora and Miles, his beloved dog, Reese and several nieces and nephews including Bill & John Griffin of Mobile, Alabama.
He was a Shriner and Mason who enjoyed fishing, boating, coin collecting and bargain hunting. He would often joke about going “sailing” when he referred to his plans to visit yard sales. Most of his spare time was spent fixing things. After retirement he enjoyed a second career as a handyman. Self-proclaimed as a “plumb-tician”, he could repair most anything.
Maraman-Billings Funeral Home handled arrangements. Per his wishes, the body was cremated. A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
The family requests any expressions of sympathy to go to Alzheimer’s Association of Louisville.
