John Ellsworth Sher 70, passed away suddenly October 27, 2015 at Jewish Hospital South.
He was a native of Washington, D.C., a retired firefighter with the Arlington County Fire Department and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hyme and Helen Sher and a son in law James del Vecchio.
He is survived by his wife Mary Sher, his children John Sher, Jr. of Tavernier, FL, Samantha Lucero (Tegen) of Louisville, Bridget Edmondson (Charles) of State College, PA and Catherine Maitret of Louisville, his siblings Carlotte Nau and Frank Sher both of Arlington, VA and 8 grandchildren.
Burial and service will take place at a later date in Virginia.
