John Edward Sample

John "Eddie" Sample, 60 of Louisville passed away at his home Monday, July 3, 2023, with his family by his side. John worked in construction, he was a skilled framing carpenter with projects completed all over Louisville and the surrounding area. He was hardworking and proud, his hands calloused and boots dirty, he worked long hours in unfavorable conditions, never quitting until the job was finished. John enjoyed being outdoors, time spent camping and fishing. He liked to play poker, cornhole and pool, he was quick to place a bet on his skill and had the reputation of being a hardworking pool shark. John’s greatest accomplishments were his children and family, he proudly posted pictures and stories sharing their memories and milestones in life. He loved being a Dad and Pop-pop, to John, family meant everything. He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Baunach. John is survived by his children Crystal Cranmer (Brandon Keith), Jonna Johnston (Dallas), Miranda Sample, Christina Murphy, Joseph Murphy, Keyana Sample, Preston Murphy and Zane Sample; grandchildren Alahna Jane Keith, Embry Faye and Jackson Gunner, along with 2 grandchildren on the way; his mother and stepfather Shirley & Joseph Moore; siblings Leilani Baunach, and Gary Sample; along with additional family members and numerous friends. The family has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services. John’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2-6 p.m. at the Jesse Schott Memorial Gym located at 298 Prairie Drive in Hillview.
