Jean Blaise Matsoumou, 54 of Louisville passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital with his family by his side.
Jean was a native a of Congo, Brazzaville. He was a Christian, a man of God, devote in his faith, a man with morals and integrity. Jean was strong and a hard worker, he was employed as a welder and took on various small jobs to support his family. He was skilled in labor, he served as the family handyman, he enjoyed building things and working with his hands. He had an appreciation for cars and engineering, he saw the value in the classics and the allure of the new designs. Family was of the utmost importance; Jean placed the needs of his wife and children above all. He was a loving husband and father, supportive and dependable. He was fun to be around, promoting faith and positivity when things appeared grim. He was the rock of the family, dearly loved, and he will be missed beyond measure.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gaston and Germaine Matsoumou.
Jean is survived by his wife of over 20 years Constance Matsoumou; his children Blod Rajah (Vertu), Belon, Larancia, Destinee, Dorcas, and Prince Matsoumou all of Louisville; along with 3 grandchildren; additional family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
