James Edward Young, 94 of Shepherdsville joined his Lord on Monday June 6, 2016.
Jim was born on June 11, 1921 to William R. and Martha Schwartz Young who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Terry Young, his siblings; William, Lewis, Herbert Young and Martha Waters, a step daughter Pauline Bryant.
He retired from American Standard, a member of Shepherdsville Christian Church, enjoyed square dancing for 34 years and traveled to San Antonio, Kansas City, MO and to Holland, he enjoyed going to Churchill Downs, antique car shows and eating out. Jim lived with his caregiver Dolly Hart since 2013 and was very happy with her, he will be remembered for saying "Thank You" and his big smile.
He is survived by his siblings Margaret Hargrove and John Henry Young, Roach, IN, step-daughters Darlene Brosick and June Carol Brown both of Shepherdsville, seven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. at the Shepherdsville Christian Church 337 Lees Valley Road with private burial to follow. Visitation will be at the church from 11-2 p.m.
