James “Jim” William Grimes, 89 of Shepherdsville passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Jim was a proud founding member and deacon of Eagle Heights Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Shelbyville and Rolling Fork Beagle Clubs.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents James Edward and Eliza Berniece Grimes; his daughter Vicky Grimes.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Loretta Mae Grimes; his daughter Sherry Lee (Tony) of Shepherdsville; his sister Mary Lou Lee (Richard) of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Stewart Lee (Mandey), Bobbi Jo Baird (Justin), Josh Mattingly, Sherry Johnson and Tiffiany Layer; great-grandchildren Tyi, Jordan, Destiny, Gracey, Dallas, Kyle, Ryan, Kaden, Piper, Braden, Kendyll, Cruz, Mackenzie, Nevaeh and Wesley.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Bro. Shelby Pruitt officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
