James Arnold Duvall

March 11, 1954 — December 29, 2024

Shepherdsville

James Arnold Duvall, 70 of Shepherdsville passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his home.

James was a Baptist by faith, he attended services at Mill Creek Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Mars and continued his career serving the government as a mechanic. James and his wife Vicki were members of the V Star bike group, they enjoyed taking trips and going new places with their friends. He was also fond of showing off his truck painted the perfect shade of Kentucky Wildcat blue. Music played a big role in James’ life; it gave him a peaceful easy feeling- he was a huge Eagles fan. James was an avid bowler, nights spent with the league were always a good time, win or lose. The basement was a dedicated UofK museum, he was protective of his collection. It was a look don’t touch display of memorabilia. James was a Wildcat superfan, he never missed a game. James had a huge heart, he was dedicated to his family, he welcomed and loved his stepson Kyle as his own. He took time to teach and mentor, he was always available to help or just listen if that’s what was needed. James was a good man with broad interest and many talents, his presence will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benny & Betty Duvall, along with his siblings Jeannie Chancey and Robbie Duvall.

James is survived by his wife Vicki Duvall; daughter Ashley Roberts of KS, stepson Kyle Gesler (Ashley Calvert) of Louisville; siblings Bennie Duvall Jr., David Duvall, and Penny Griffith; grandchildren James Carl Roberts and Mya Nicole Roberts both of Kansas; along with extended family and many close friends.
