James Edward Cooper, 75 of Lebanon Junction passed away at his home Sunday, December 18, 2022 with his family by his side.
He was a Baptist by faith. He retired from working quality control after 31 years. James enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a Rockhound, an amateur geologist and numismatist, he prized his collection of gemstones, rocks, and fossils. James was also a bowler, always hoping to pick up a perfect 300, happy with a strike or a picking up a spare. Fact or fiction, James always had a book in hand. Above all, James was a loving family man, simple and supportive, he wanted his family to know the love that he had for each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Monroe Cooper and Roberta Aryes Hardin.
James is survived by his loving wife of more than 40 years Kathy J. Cooper; his children Sarah Beth Cooper (Keith Willis) of Winchester and Abigail Rose Cooper of Dayton, Ohio; his brother Danny Hardin of Versailles, sister and brother-in-law Diana Workman and Kenny Booth with whom he was very close; grandchildren Landen O’Neil, Kai Willis, Ian Cooper and Matthew Cooper, a great-grandchild Artemis Cooper; along with additional family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service.
