Jake Thomas Stamps, 86 of Shepherdsville passed away at UofL Jewish South Friday, February 14, 2020 with his family by his side.
He operated heavy equipment in the construction industry and served his country in the National Guard from 1954 until 1962. He became a member of Liberty Baptist Church in 1941, and later joined Victory Baptist Church. Jake was a hard worker who enjoyed hunting, gardening and yardwork.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Tinnell Stamps; his son Tony Stamps; his parents Joshua and Tinie Stamps; and his siblings Gordon Stamps, Cornwell Stamps, Odessa King and Margaret Stamps.
Jake is survived by his children Starla Yvonne Stamps of Shepherdsville, Jefferey Thomas Stamps (Pamela) of Auburn KY, Michelle Lynn Stamps of Shepherdsville and Jason Lee Stamps of Louisville; his siblings Eddie Mae Creek and Johnny Stamps (Becky) both of Auburn KY; his daughter-in-law Terry Stamps of Shepherdsville; along with 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A private service is to be held on the family farm at a later date.
