J.B. Latham

J.B. Latham, 84 of Shepherdsville, returned to his heavenly father on April 30, 2022.
Born in Kirkmansville, Kentucky on May 15, 1937, to Golie (McGhee) and Ernest Latham, J.B. grew up on an award-winning farm in Todd County. He played basketball (center) for the Clifty Blue Jays. After graduation from high school, he and his cousins came to Louisville where he worked for 38 years at General Electric Company. He met a former Shepherdsville High School cheerleader, Jeannie (Knopp) Latham and they married on August 1, 1959, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shepherdsville and have been happily married for over 61 years.
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Avia M. Pritchitt and her husband Warren, his brothers Narvice Ray and Ernest Latham Jr., along with his brother-in-law Donald Dixon and sister-in-law Carolyn Latham.
He is survived by his wife; his special nieces; Carol Jean Knopp-Megaris and Tracey Reid; his siblings Nadine Dixon, Merrye Shelton (Carol), Daisy Haley (Dennis), Bertha Coursey (Jerry), Phillip Latham and Dennie Latham.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville. A private inurnment will be held on a later date.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
