HOWARD HOBART JONES, age 87 entered his heavenly home on Saturday April 18, 2015 with his family by his side.
Rev. Jones was an Assemblies of God minister. He was born Jan. 3, 1928, to Thomas and Ella Bruce Jones in Knoxville, TN. He attended college at the University of Tennessee, Central Bible College in Springfield, MO and the A/G Theological Seminary. The Rev. Jones first pastored in Florida, having received his credentials there in 1947 while serving in the U. S. Air Force.
He also pastored in Fayetteville, TN for 5 years, Covington, TN for 20 years, Chicago, IL for 2 years, Virginia for 2 years, Okmulgee, OK for 10 years and Ashland, KY for 6 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Emma Ruth Jones, his sons, Ronald (Jean) of Covington, TN, Philip (Lisa) of Louisville, and daughter, Phyllis (Chuck Byrd) of Mustang, OK. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sister, Dorothy DeBusk, of Knoxville, TN. He and his wife moved to Louisville in 1994, where he has been a staff member of Evangel World Prayer Center.
Service will be at 11 AM Tuesday at Evangel World Prayer Center, 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY with Dr. Bob Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Crosswater Gardens. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 3 to 8 PM.
