Gregory “Doggfish” Allen Hornback, 60 of Shepherdsville passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at his home with loved ones by his side.
He was agnostic in his beliefs. He proudly served as a tanker in the United States Army, while on the rifle team; he received the high marksmanship award. He worked as a laborer for Ford Motor Company, he was a 24-year FTP Ford employee. Gregory was better known as “Doggfish” he was a likable, well-rounded individual, with a vast array of interest. He enjoyed listening to music, and watching movies, he was obsessed with history and UFO conspiracies. He was a self -proclaimed foodie, he continually prepared new recipes for all to enjoy. Gregory loved collecting guns, hunting, and fishing, his family dubbed him “a walking encyclopedia of guns and fish”. Gregory coined a new term and contributed it to the Urban Dictionary. Gregory had the gift of gab, he could talk to strangers for hours, the conversation spanning various topics. Gregory loved his family, friends, followers, and his dear Corgis Poppy, Rosie, Daisy, and Paisley. Life without Gregory will be mundane to say the least, he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Lillian Hornback.
Gregory is survived by his wife Judy Hornback, daughter Stephanie Bratcher (Nick); stepchildren Leslie Ann Vallejo (Jesse) and Adam Tate; his siblings Gary Hornback (Pamela), and Colby Hornback; grandchildren Axel Bratcher, Sydney Miller, Syerra Miller, and Micah Vallejo; along with additional family members and friends.
The family has entrusted Maraman Billings Funeral Home with cremation services. An inurnment is to take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023.
