Eva Mae Moser, 91 of Shepherdsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, peacefully at her home, with her family by her side.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Riley and Orse Jaggers, she was the eldest of four children. Eva attended Campbellsville College, WKU and U of L, and spent her professional career as an educator, teaching in both Hardin and Bullitt County. She was a Methodist by faith and a member of Davidson Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Bullitt County Women’s Club, was active with the Girl Scouts of America, and volunteered numerous years with the American Red Cross.
Eva was known to all as a kind and compassionate person, who had no qualms with sharing an opinion, a joke, or an off-color story. She had an unparalleled sense of humor that rarely, if ever, missed, and a sharp wit to match. She was an avid traveler, a stalwart companion, and always quick with a smile. We are all blessed to have had the opportunity to live in her presence, as she made the world a little better place.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Dr. B.C. Moser; her parents, Riley and Orse Jaggers; her siblings, Dr. W.O. Jaggers and Betty Bishop Nalley.
Eva is survived by her children, Melanie Moser Thompson of Elizabethtown, and Mark (Stephanie) Moser of Crestwood; her brother, Larry (Carol) Jaggers of Glendale; her grandchildren, Victoria (Kody) Hoadley, Erik (Ashleigh) Thompson, Adam (Meredith) Thompson, Alex Thompson, Elizabeth Miller, Claudia, Samuel, Daniel and Nathaniel Moser; her great-granddaughters, Mattiline Claxton, and Hannah Thompson.
Eva had a great love for her family, and she shared that love with her nieces, nephews, and extended family, and made everyone feel special and seen.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home. A burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday.
