Edwin "Ed" Ray Phelps

Edwin “Ed” Ray Phelps 68, of Mount Washington passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Baptist Health Hospital.
He was a Baptist by faith and a member of Boston Christian Church. A Vietnam Veteran serving the United States Marine Corps. He was a former football coach for Valley Sports Youth League, Valley High School, North Bullitt, Fairdale, Moore and Western. He also had coached softball at Thomas Nelson High School, Fairdale, North Bullitt, Bullitt East, Spencer County and basketball at Fairdale.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Barrett Phelps and Marie Carter and a brother Bobby Phelps.
Ed is survived by his wife Joyce Phelps; his children Helen Murphy (Tommy) of Louisville, Cammie Roth of Nicholasville, Susan Martin (Bobby) of Nicholasville, Jinny White of McCreary County, Kathy Gettings of Bardstown, Steve Boone of McCreary County, Danny Boone of Florida, Jason Blanton of Louisville and Mike Blanton of Mount Washington; his siblings Kenneth Phelps (Debbie) of Boston, Ronny Phelps (Patty) of Shepherdsville, Paul Carter (Renee) of Laconia IN, Barry Phelps (Sheila) of Louisville, Steve Phelps (Allison) of Louisville, Ruthie Wheat of Florida and Rita Hughes of Florida; a sister in law Joyce Lee Phelps of Munfordville KY; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Kenneth Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-7 p.m. and 9 a.m. Monday until time of service.
