Edward Louis Corbett Sr.

Edward Louis Corbett Sr., 80 of Shepherdsville passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
The son of Kelly & Ophelia Corbett, Ed was born in Louisville and was a Catholic by faith. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve. Ed worked as a general contractor; he was the proud owner/operator of Corbett Construction Company. Alongside his supportive wife Carol, Ed built over 200 homes and completed more than 10,000 commercial renovation projects. In his free time, Ed enjoyed working in his garden, making wine, spending time on the water boating, and with his pilots’ license, flying high above the clouds. Ed was a man of character, he was hardworking, and loyal. He was proud of the relationship he shared with his service buddies and friends; he held them in the highest regard. Ed placed the needs of his family above all, he was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His presence will be dearly missed.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents Kelly and Ophelia Corbett.
He is survived by his wife Carol Barger Corbett; sons Edward Louis Corbett Jr., and Mark Corbett (Justina); his siblings Jo Ann Scaglione (Fred), Mary June Forsythe (Allan), Tom Corbett (Beth), and Bobby Corbett; grandchildren Kerick Corbett, Kyle Corbett, Phoenix Corbett, and Lillian Corbett; great-grandchildren James and John Corbett; along with additional family members and dear friends.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday, January 5, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to share a memory, story, or condolences in honor of Edward.
