Derek Scott Roberts

Derek Scott Roberts, 41, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on November 7, 2022.
Derek excelled as an employee at CTDI in Indiana as Senior Operations Supervisor, worked part-
time with Goodwill Industries, and as a Counselor at Louisville Recovery Community
Connection.
Derek was born on October 18, 1981 in Alliance, Nebraska, and grew up in Louisville and
southern Indiana where he attended Silver Creek High School. He is survived by a daughter,
Miranda Laha, son Jordan Taylor, his sisters Savanna Jolly & Sarah Roberts; brothers Eric &
Chase Roberts, his parents, Belinda & Jack Jolly, his father, Donald Roberts, and numerous
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Derek was a big a shoe lover, collecting Air Jordans and any other shoes that caught his eye. He
was an outstanding chef who over the years worked in some of Louisville’s finest restaurants.
Derek also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in a hammock at Bernheim Arboretum.
A beloved son, brother, & friend, his absence will be felt by everyone who loved him. Derek
loved his nieces Saylor and Sutton Druin.
Because of his own experience, Derek became an advocate for people in recovery looking for
healing. He hoped to offer them empathy and compassion for anyone who needed it. In lieu of

Funeral Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2022 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery of Bardstown, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00-8:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
