David "Mike" Michael Woods

David “Mike” Michael Woods, 74 of Shepherdsville passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike was a Baptist by faith, he served in the United States Army and was the retired owner/operator of Woods Cabinets & Laminating. Mike was a skilled woodworker for more than 60 years; he remodeled hundreds of kitchens throughout the county and was contracted by the state for various jobs. He was a self-starter, hardworking, and proud of his skill, he set high standards for himself and expected the same from others. His hands were rough and calloused from work, but with his hands he provided his family all of their needs, character, support and love. Mike was well known and actively involved in the community; he amassed a multitude of friends from all walks of life. He was an avid Crappie fishman, happy to spend his days tucked in a cove reeling in the days catch. Mike was giving and caring by nature, he was devoted to his family and in return they considered him an absolutely amazing man. His life will never be forgotten, his legacy will remain untarnished, he was truly remarkable and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Mike is preceded in death by his wife Barbara “Barbie” Woods, they were married for more than 37 years and shared a never-ending love; his parents Dewey & Anna Mae Woods; along with his siblings Dewey Woods Jr., Ray Woods, Edith Amos and Bob “Mouse” Woods.
Mike is survived by his son David Lee Woods and his wife Stephanie, whom was a beloved inherited daughter to Mike and the family; his grandchildren Kortney Fiedler (Andrew), Camryn Woods, and Haley Cline (Alex); great-grandchildren Emma Rose and Payton Grace; along with Grayson Michael Lee, soon to make his arrival; his siblings Patsy McDonald and Wanda Sellers; his sweetheart and dear companion Sharon Key; along with additional family members and a host of friends too numerous to list.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, with his son David Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery
Visitation will be Friday from 12 -8 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Maraman Billings Funeral Home.
