David "Bucky" Lee Brooks

David “Bucky” Lee Brooks, 62 of Shepherdsville passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Bucky was a simple man with a love of the outdoors. He could often be found working the land, farming, and tinkering with his tractor. He was a family man, he worked hard to provided for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed baking and nights around a bonfire surrounded by family, friends, and his dogs. Bucky was well known throughout the community and will be dearly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Herbert and Ida Fox Brooks; sons Matthew Jacob Brooks and David Lee Brooks Jr.; brother Herbert Brooks and granddaughter Zerenity Raine Marie Brooks.
Bucky is survived by his children Anthony Brooks (Dee), Earl Brooks (Cheyanna), Dorothy Brooks, Ida Brooks and Matt McCarty (Haley) all of Shepherdsville along with Nicole Fineron (Matt) of New York; siblings Joseph Brooks, Margie Karger, Johnny Brooks and Daisy McCubbins all of Shepherdsville, along with his sister-in-law Mary Lou Brooks of Corbin, KY; 1 grandchild; and a host of additional family members and friends too numerous to count.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
