Rev. Clifford Lee “Hero” Snawder, 83 of Shepherdsville, returned to his heavenly father on Friday, September 9, 2022, after a joyous day of celebrating his birthday with his family by his side.
Clifford was Pentecostal by faith. He loved the Lord and all who knew him know that he is rejoicing in His presence today. He retired from Inland Containers after 35 years of service. He also served as Pastor of God’s Holiness Church for several years. He loved spending time with his family, NASCAR, playing the guitar and watching western movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Pauline Snawder, along with his infant daughters Beverly Ann Snawder and Clara Faye Snawder.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his treasured wife of over 60 years, Sanda Sue Snawder; his daughters Janice (Matt) Collins and Barbara (Kevin) Whitaker; his grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Hartlage, Sarah (Jimmy) Carnes, Joey (Kandice) Whitaker, Matthew (Christina) Collins, and Katie (Aaron) Pawley; great-grandchildren Jordan Carnes, Raylee Hartlage, Trevor Carnes, Jadyn Hartlage, Halo Pawley, Ethan Whitaker, Ryan Carnes, Lucas Whitaker, Raiden Pawley, Emmarie Collins, Ella Collins and Jameson Pawley; a beloved niece that he raised like a daughter, Netanya Wilkerson; his sisters Wilma (Darvin) Mann and Betty (Joe) Abell; his brothers Phillip (Diane) Snawder, Danny (Ramona) Snawder and Herman Snawder Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family members and friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, with Bro. John Loudermilk officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
