Charles Darrell Williams, 74 of Shepherdsville passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Baptist Health Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dillard and Rhea Williams; and his siblings Winford Williams, Royce Williams, and Odeline Vanmeter.
Darrell was a Christian by faith. He served as the Operations Manager of a building materials company for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed sports, he played on softball, volleyball, and basketball teams. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Darrell appreciated the beauty of the outdoors, he tended a large garden, sharing his harvest with everyone he knew. He loved everything about cars, whether it was buying, selling, restoring, or just tinkering. He was a bargain hunter, with zest for life and adventure. He had a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh; he liked playing cards, a good meal, and time shared with family. The list of positive attributes is endless, but Darrell will be most remembered for his unfaltering love, dedication, and support for his family. He was a loving husband, doting father, and amazing grandfather. He will be dearly missed, his memory treasured forever.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife Darlene Williams; his daughter Alicia Farley and her husband Bill; his stepsons Travis Pottinger (Theresa), and Todd Pottinger (Samantha); siblings Bryan Williams (Jeannie), Denny Williams (Marcella), Jenny McKinney, and Sue Embry; his granddaughters Kerry (Jimmy), and Kamri Farley; step-grandchildren Kristen Gaines (Scott), Travis-Cody, Christopher, William, And Samuel Pottinger; his step great-grandchildren Braylon, Lillie and Benny Gaines; along with additional family members and countless friends.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m.Monday, February 7, 2022 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Rodriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Brookland Cemetery.
Visitations will be Tuesday 2-8 p.m., Wednesday 12-8 p.m., and Monday 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
