Bobby Gene Elkins

Bobby Gene Elkins, 88 of Shepherdsville, passed away on December 5, 2022, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville with his family by his side.
He was born in Lee County, Kentucky to James Calloway and Allene Cart Elkins. He was an Air Force Veteran and a Mason. He retired from Jim Beam Distillery after 37 years of service. He was a rock for everyone in his family and was always there if anyone needed anything. A loving father and “the best husband,” he was loved by and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Betty Howell, Dorene Lee, and a brother Billy Elkins.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia Elkins, a daughter Stephanie Carroll, sons Douglas Miles (Wanda) and Donald Miles (Donna), a brother, James Elkins, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchild, 1 great great-grandchild, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, with John Lentz officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
