Betty Barnes 78 of Shepherdsville passed away on Thursday July 10, 2014 at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital after an illness.
She was a native of Stapleton, Alabama, a member of Knob Creek Union Church and the pianist for Clermont Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Caleb Ernest and Virgie Boan, a son Ernest Ray Barnes and a brother George Boan.
She is survived by her husband Charles Elmer Barnes of Shepherdsville, her children Jo Anne Barnes, Daniel (Trina) Barnes, Sandra Barnes all of Shepherdsville, Kathleen (Gene) Cornett of Richmond, VA, Charles Barnes, David Barnes, Calvin (Tina) Barnes all of Lebanon Junction, Sam (Yana) Barnes of Bardstown and Tim (Stephanie) Barnes of Mt. Washington, 19 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren with two additional Great Grandchildren on the way.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Knob Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday 9 until time of service. Online condolences may be made at maramanbillings.com
