Bernard "Bernie" Stuart Ritchie Jr.

Bernard “Bernie” Stuart Ritchie, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on Friday August 18, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard, Sr. and Vivian Ritchie, a brother Tom Ritchie and brother in law David Loran.
Bernie was an attorney, graduate of Trinity High School, Bellarmine University and the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. He served in the Air National Guard and was a past president of the St. Matthews Optimist Club. He was passionate about traveling at his own pace, loved cooking and smoking meat, loved tennis both playing and watching, a good game of Black Jack and appreciated a good glass of bourbon.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ritchie, his stepchildren Pamela Billings (Dave) and David Stinson (Tina) of Mt. Sherman, his siblings Kathleen Loran, Sandy Messina (Vincent), of Shamong, NJ, Mary Ritchie, Fred Ritchie (Betty) of Alpharetta, Ga, Joe Ritchie (Cecilia) and Mark Ritchie (Joanne) of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, 6 Step Grandchildren and 2 Step Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Friday at noon at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, Shepherdsville, KY with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-7 pm and on Friday from 9 am till noon.
