Eugene "Gene" Brenner Marcilliat

February 11, 1949 — April 26, 2024

Eugene “Gene” Brenner Marcilliat, 75 of Shepherdsville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Baptist Health Louisville.
He was a native of Tell City, Indiana, a Catholic by faith and an active team member of Amazon. Gene enjoyed every type of sport and had an eclectic taste in music. He was a self-taught guitarist of all genres. He was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan and had an
incredible love for animals. He devoted time to his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Joseph “Joe” Marcilliat and Evelyn Marcilliat, his sister Anne Powers and brother-in-law Rodger Colwell.
Gene is survived by his children Michelle Marcilliat-Talai (Cyrus) of Mt. Washington, Kentucky and Jeffrey Marcilliat of San Francisco, California; siblings Phyllis Welage (Vincent)
and Edward “Ted” Marcilliat of Indiana, Eileen Colwell of Virginia, and brother-in-law John Powers of California; grandchildren SPC Tyler Dean Corbin (Jessica) and Sgt. Isaac Brennen
Corbin; along with his great granddaughter Adalee Bright.
Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Maraman Billings Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2–6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
