Barbara Ann (Owen) (Tarter) Hanna, 82, of Jeffersontown, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Glen Ridge Health Campus.
She was a longtime resident of Jeffersontown, KY and prior to that Lebanon Junction, KY. Barbara was a longtime cashier for Winn Dixie in Louisville and Bardstown, KY, until her retirement. Barbara’s faith was strong, she was active in her church: both Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Bardstown Junction Baptist Church. Barbara taught Sunday School and took a number of international mission trips.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, John and Myrtle Owen, and her husbands, Charles R. Tarter Sr. and Neil Hanna, as well as her only sibling, William Ronald (“Billy”) Owen.
She is survived by her two children: Charles Russell Tarter Jr. of Lebanon Junction, KY and Dianna Lynn Lee (Kevin), of Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren Amber Talcott (Damion) of St. Louis, MO, Jeramie Tarter (Brianna Manning) of Hillview, KY, Ali Struble (Travis) of Hopkinsville, KY, Charles Robert Tarter (Kelsey) of Boston, KY and Tiffany Miller of Lebanon Junction, KY; along with 13 great grandchildren; additional family members, her church families and friends.
