Mary Catherine Harper, 82 of Shepherdsville passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Jewish Hospital South.
She was preceded in death by her husband John D. Harper, a son I.W. Harper, her parents George Z. and Sue Wigginton, a sister Sue Charles Jones and a brother George H. Wigginton.
She was a native of Bullitt County, a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, a former member of the Kentucky State Legislature. She was a graduate of Presentation Academy and Spaulding College and did post graduate work at DePaul University and University of Louisville. She was a retired school teacher for the Bullitt County Board of Education including many years at Overdale Elementary.
She is survived by her son Alex (Marion) Harper of Cox's Creek, a sister Betty Ann Robey of Shepherdsville, two grandsons Jared Z. and Gabriel Harper both of Cox's Creek and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shepherdsville with Rev. David Naylor officiating. Mary Catherine chose cremation.
Visitation with the family will be at Maraman Billings Funeral Home on Monday 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
